This publication is put together with illustrations I have collected as a teenager. It tells a narrative of growing up as a girl in China, as I would often feel suppressed and stripped away of my individuality. Education in China is test based and anything other than academics is a distraction. Art would be viewed as a distraction from academics and only people who can not reach the test score for 'normal' colleges would go to art school. Long hair is not allowed on girls and girls who wear make up or care about appearances is considered a 'bad' student. The publication narrates the struggles from elementary to adulthood in a personal way with the use of handwriting, calligraphy and collage.
